Hair is becoming the bane of my life. If I had cheekbones or a svelte figure I would jsut pixie cut that shite off a la Emma Watson. Talks of 3am jam toast runs probably illustrate just how far away that likelihood is at the moment however! Therefore I often delve into a little fanciful dreaming of one day being able to be able to give myself the gift of the casual plait. They're everywhere at the moment too!
The morning of the races was it for me. I have been growing my hair for almost a year now and I even deep condition it when I remember! I had a hairdresser, it was set in my mind. Then, from out of bloody nowhere, "there's no way baaaaybe. You have bad genes, you're hair's all mangled and thin and there's not enough for the size of your face". Enter violins and one very sullen client is is NEVER going back. The end.
Check that lady out! She never ceases to amaze me, even if this is really really old. Stunning photography. Speaking of which, on a side note, did you hear that Annie Leibovitz is doing a exhibition of all her favourite artworks in Sydney? I would LOVE to go and see it. That woman is a walking legend.
Nonetheless, this isn't her work I believe but I can't figure that out right now because it's 5am and all the sugar from 3am jam toast has depleted. The world is now gooooiinggg slloooooooowwwly...
I'm not sure when the change began but I am guessing somewhere around the time when I decided my new occupation was sitting at Memphis Belle smoking and drinking long blacks all day.
I love black. I love Dries Van Noten and Comme des Garcons.
I have been getting a little swoonish over Lou Doillon for some time now. So beautiful, edgy but chic! Only a french woman could pull the combo off I suppose. She's uncomprehendable gorgeous but even more than that- she had her tongue pierced and tattoos by the time she was 11! On top of all that, I just learnt that she's Jane Birkin's daughter. I wish my mother was so cool she had a bag named after her!
I would glad get murderous to have a toe dipped in her gene pool!
Check her out. OBSESSED. These are my favourites that I have picked up along the way:
On a side note: I wonder whether asshole will visit me again tonight? I had to laugh, really. Love you xx
So Toast was yesterday and I must say, I couldn't be happier with my decision to go. I was so unbelievably close to pulling the pin too as I was standing on our front doorstep while the sky fell- cider in one hand, umbrella in the other and tramping boots on feet at 6am. True story. In the end the day cleared and I had a lovely day despite my bank account and liver now weeping.
Now I have the day after blues. One hell of a weekend, one hell of a come down. Making some very poor personal decisions too, eating dry noodles being the last. Crap.
I think I may just stay in bed and let the day roll over. Ugh.
I heard about this guy a few years ago but only recently did his name pop up again.
This guy is from Auckland and is our age. He currently lives in New York and earns mega bucks taking what I can honestly say would have to be some of the most beautiful images I have ever seen. Tom Gould is friend of friends too which makes it super cool!
Talent like that makes me sigh. *SIGH*
I think this may just tickle your wee fancy Saki!
Love and miss you xx
P.S. Those rings are phenomenal. DLuxe are ruling the roost!
